Alright, cliffelam is on his way over. We are going running. I'll be lucky to make it 3 miles without collapsing.

But... I'm going. The coffee is coursing through my veins and I'm as ready as I will ever be.

Let's do it!

Octopuses are not aliens

Heck, in my university official record I am marked as an "alien".

All roads lead to Achewood.

A 1.85 billion pound indiegogo project is exactly the sort of parody indiegogo needs.

Man. Can you imagine their reaction if they actually raised that?

". . . tits."

I'm not gay nor am I a straight bachelorette party attending women, but I can see how this would be grating both on a cultural and physical level. The ignorance and sense of entitlement in some people is simply astounding.

Their mistake is not building it in Dubai.

Interesting enough that I gasped when I opened that link.

I can see why I missed the post. Filtered. Big time.

People getting to make posts accusing other users of being pedophiles and rapists as retaliation to being called out for shitty behavior isn't a game.

No offence, but it sounds way too serious than it is. Now, granted, I haven't seen such behavior here before - even the most heated debates I observed have been argumented and portioned to make sense - and, granted, it shouldn't be tolerated if meant seriously.

But then, Grendel only called me out on that because he wanted to "strike back", knowing perfectly well he has nothing on it. He wanted to make the point that people mustn't be accused without proof... if their username contains "Grendel". That point, he made. People responded to him, which I don't approve. He wanted attention, and he got it, from people who believed that he must have been meaning what he said - the same people who know what kind of behavior he's infamous for.

I don't approve of such behavior, either, but what we did as a collective is stirred the pot further by telling the guy "Well, if nothing else works, here's how you get to us". He's proven himself incapable of changing his mind once his ego was hurt or argument attempted to be proven wrong (which is the same thing). The best we can do, in the situation, is not feed.

When I took german classes, our teacher said people in Germany never threw furniture away. Instead, they just put them in a big pile outside and, like your old clothes, someone would pick it up.

I'm interested. Do you call this organization saying you've got some clothes in a box in fornt of the house or is it a periodical service they provide?

I recently moved and haven't utilized the service here. But back in Michigan I believe they were called the "Purple Heart" and they would leave a leaflet on our door letting us know when they would be in the area. Also, you could call them if you had a large load and they would set up a time for pick up. My guess is that they contacted other places in the neighborhood and structured the pickups together.

Also, I increasingly see large drop off bins at gas stations where you can deposit your old, unwanted clothes.

One thing that I know we will do is give all of our babies clothes to charity. We'll do this once we are sure we aren't having any more. Also her toys.

How did I know that would be a Monty Python link?
Uh, maybe because they rule! Ridiculous rules call for ridiculous responses.
