We call that "viral marketing" folks.
They know the only way to get people talking about Pizza Hut online is to do something either really cool or really outrageous. The publicity is the same. They don't expect anyone to take them up on it - it's like the Pepsi Points Harrier (minus the sticky points that nearly cost Pepsi a Harrier).

There is subsidy in that package? I thought it was a themed wedding along the lines of a Disney wedding or some such.

I don't think there was subsidy in that package but I think that's a not unreasonable projection. We already have TV shows about weddings where the participants no doubt have their weddings at least partially paid for.

If we were all so lucky to have a network to pay us millions to broadcast our weddings. :P But judging by the length of their marriage, that might not be a good thing.
