Ramen noodle soup for me. Whenever I am "American food out", a bowl of steamy Ramen noodle soup can always put my stomach at ease. I remember 3 months after I came to America, mk took me to northern Michigan, where we spent an entire week in a cottage with his family. Three days past by, I started freaking out with the overload of pork roast, beef roast, bacon and so on, since that was the first time I haven't touched Chinese food for days. Not to mention that I am a borderline vegetarian since I don't like meat too much. So we ran to Walmart and bought some instant noodle, that saved my life. After that I am good with pork roast for another 3 days. Now I refuse to co-habitate with them without the instant noodle in my suitcase. It's interesting how our palates evolve, now I can have American food for a long time without a melt-down. I actually enjoy a lot of them now, still not the meaty stuff too much.

I was wondering that because I recognized all the Chinese ingredients. I bet it's from southern China.

Hmmm, that's a strange concept. But I've learned not to impose my own bias against any strange ideas when it comes to food, quite often they are the ones that shockingly please your taste buds. One time I had some pickled shrimp, and pickled stawberries at a local restaurant. I frowned upon the concept before I tried them, but they were abosolutly delicious!! I will give this a try.

Thanks, NotPhil! mk bought bacon yesterday. He is excited to try it, and I am excited to eat it. We'll let you know how it turns out.

I am very impressed. It has a very good dynamic. The background music is perfect. I am a fan now.

It's a cool promotion idea. But I hope it doesn't kill anybody because of its invisibility.

Thanks Lessimore! You just made my day! There will be noodles coming to my house soon :)

You just crack the egg in the noodle soup while you boil the noodle, when the noodle is done, the egg will be cooked too. Now there are two types eggs in the noodle soup, one that we call "Flying Egg", which you whip the egg first then slowly stir it in the soup, so that the egg are floating pieces in the soup, kind of like the egg in the "Egg Drop Soup". The other type is that you just crack the egg, and drop it in the soup, do not stir it until the egg is cooked, so that you can get a whole egg in the soup.

Shin Ramyun is also one of my favorites. You can pretty much find it in every Asian grocery store. I always have some stocked up. Try to drop an egg in the noodlesoup when you cook it next time, it always makes it better. Whenever I am overwhelmed with American food, I always make myself a nice bowl of Ramen noodle soup. There is this most famous brand in China called "Kang Shi Fu", that's my all time favorite, but it's hard to find here.

That is the prettiest ring :)

That is totally my goal. We might have to wait for a couple of years with the kid on the way. But we will try to carry the kid around the world as soon as possible. The hardest one will be Antartica. I've heard that some cruise will take people to the shores of Antartica, and they can have a marathon on the cruise, so that they can tell people they've run a marathon on Antartica.

I don't think it's really about the ring. It's the thought that matters the most.

We saw a lot of those in Shanghai last year when we went back to China. Many people who live in the dilapidated buildings are the ones who generally refuse to take the compensation and move to the outskirt of the city. Those buildings usually have a big red character that indicates they will be taken down. I always feel sorry to see the scene.

I always have mixed feelings about China's development. It's great to see my own country's economic power is getting stronger and stronger, but in the midst of it, it always seems there are something genuine being lost. Maybe it's just me being nostalgic.

Yes! I agree! I am not even a big coffee fan, but the Stumptown cappuccino is definitely a die-for. Actually, more and more study has come out showing coffee is good for you. It can reduce the risk of different types of cancer, and it doesn't matter if it's decaf or not. Coffee has a lot of antioxidants.

This is an example of irresponsibility of journalism. I am tired of the media using extreme examples as the proxy of the entire culture. It seems like he over exaggerates to grab attention. It has happened so many times that I have to clarify certain misconceptions of Chinese culture because of the irresponsibility of the media. I am sure it happens across all other cultures too.

We already did the number 1) this year. So my New Year resolution for next year is having a baby, just to keep it simple :)

Best of luck to you!

That's a great New Year resolution. That was actually my secrete New Year resolution. But since I am having a baby soon, I dare not to make it official. Maybe the year after the next. Good luck, let's know how it goes. You can be my inspiration next year.

That has always been my goal. The experience can stay with you forever, but not the material. But sometimes I still go through a shopping spree, not good.

It doesn't look like plastic, it looks very reflective, almost like a mirror. It has to be a perfect balance of rigidity and flexibility. No more flat tires!

It's a great idea if it's not too expensive. That way, the pool wouldn't look ugly with a cover on it in winter.

Bone Machine is actually my favorite album so far. I do really like this new album Bad As Me. I will have to listen to it more times to decide which one I like more.

One day I was having Tom Waits fever, I bought multiple of his albums and listened to him all day long, and I got really sick of him by the end of the night. I took a break from him for awhile, recently the fever has slowly come back again.
