I think my instance is actually what WanderingEng posted below.

I want a bug or ant like creature that glows different colors constantly.

I completely agree. I always ask myself how people get put into professional positions when they act this way. I wonder this about many things relating to businesses. How do they succeed so greatly when they do xyz, etc..

Really though, how does one attain such a management level position when they act unprofessional in manners like this?

I should also say that I had no idea what Aeon Magazine was and it's pretty cool.

I find this article about Aeon Magazine quite interesting..

https://www.jboy.space/log/ssrc-digital-media-reflection.html

The CEO of Aeon Magazines father is one of the richest people in Australia being a head of a hedge fund..

Bleu  ·  3384 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: The End of Walking: step by step, Americans are sacrificing the right to walk

Oh how true this is! My town, city, and state are not destined for walking but oh how I would love to take off walking or even bicycling everywhere I want or need to go. There isn't really anything stopping me beside the requirement of a bicycle in that case but it's just not ingrained, habit, or something I really even think of doing.

Everything where I live is 1/4 mile apart +/-, but could technically be walked but would take more time and effort.

I'm thinking GNC is the unnamed store. I think the supplement industry needs to have more strict regulations especially here in the USA. You can claim to have a cure for cancer in your supplement and sell it all you want here. They are unregulated.

What a frustrating time this family went through. They both show remarkable strength through this. I do wonder though if Jennie ever has inside thoughts about Kristian and him with their other kids.

I just discovered this. I'm not really into politics as I believe they all lie to get elected then follow the money train... I'm surprised this doesn't have more comments.

I really got the same feelings coffeesp00ns got in your post. I can certainly see an artistic side to this and I really hope you continue on your path learning and learning.

We could see you posting about how you're entered in a photography contest or photography art gallery before we know it!

How much it cost? Do you have a 3D printer or ? You have the 3D file? I know at my library one can use a 3D printer and this would be great. I want!

> Often people who aren't productive members in our society are seen to have less value and an even lesser meaning of life. We are practically raised to believe that without a good job you can't live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

You're spot on! The perception in America in regards to the type of job you have is judged by everyone.

What is going on up there?

Bleu  ·  3418 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Outrage. [OC digital art]

I like your triangles and your digital art. I really wish you would do more of a variety though. I know you posted something that looks very very similar to this a few days ago. I clicked your link looking for a bit more honestly. I would love to learn to digitally create art but never get in a creative mood to learn.

Bleu  ·  3431 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Apple Watch Sales Drop 90 Percent From Opening Week

I don't get the point in the apple watch. You have to keep your phone in the general area where you want to make/receive calls on the watch so that part is useless. Your phone can act as a pedometer/GPS, etc.. so that part of the watch is useless. The watch is just pointless in my opinion.

Bleu  ·  3432 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: How was your weekend?

My weekend was just okay. It wasn't the best weekend ever or the worst. I watched fireworks with my wife and then her mother came to our house and visited with us for a few hours. I'm unemployed at this time just having lost my job on July 2nd. I've applied quite a few places but haven't heard anything back yet. I hope I can find something today or sometime this week, I hope.

I have a deep desire to become an artist but I don't have the patience to practice drawing. I just sit here at my computer applying at places and aimlessly browsing the internet. I'm 27 years old.. I need to get motivated.

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: A sculpture commission from earlier this year, step by step progress

I too enjoyed the DIY posts. I really like what you did on this piece. I wouldn't think asking someone to make a sculpture is very common especially at a frame shop, is it a common request?

Does it have holes for wedding pictures or is it just a statue of sorts that represents something?

I think you did a great job on craftsmanship and such but I think its kind of weird they wanted their grand-daughter included. Is it a sort of memorial for her?

My wife and I had tacos today. I tried to get her to have some grilled cheeseburgers with me this evening (EST) but she wasn't having it! We did have cheeseburgers yesterday though. I love good ole' American cheeseburgers nice and greasy with a nice thick sesame seed bun with ketchup, mustard, pickles, onion, and mayonnaise. Yum! Absolutely delicious!

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Whats your favourite TV show?

My absolute favorite ever has to have been Rescue Me, and Dirty Jobs. However they aren't being produced anymore.

I always really enjoyed public service TV shows since I was kid. I always loved CHiPs when I was a kid. While watching Dirty Jobs I love the variety and interesting things you both learn you wouldn't mind doing in real life as a job, and things you absolutely wouldn't want to do.

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: How did you learn programming?

I'd like to learn to program myself. Every time I have searched which language to learn first people have suggested Python from a number of different websites.

Personally, I need someone to help me learn. I need someone to do it with me.

Anyone want to learn Python together? Someone who honestly wants to learn together.

I was thinking a good project to do to learn would be build a portable IRC client with GUI(Graphical User Interface.) I figured once we got it portable on desktop we could move toward making it a webapp.

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Whats your dream job?

My dream job is to be a remote community manager of a website like hubski, reddit, eBay etc, or a very popular game. I'd like to move from being on the frontend to overtime learning to be good at coding and remain there. I like the variety of that job. I still need to learn to code, and type/write better English. I don't even know the qualifications for such jobs. I don't think a job like that should have qualifications really other than being a good part of the community and having the ability to resolve issues and work with people in a calm collective way. I would like the position to be remote so I can spend time anywhere and everywhere while still doing my job.

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Where Should Poor People Live?

This is a very interesting article. I need more long non-fluffed articles in my life. I worry that in the future articles will be long but full of fluff, fluff, and more fluff. backtoyoujim, nice question to pose there. Of course there should be poor people but only to an extent in my opinion.

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: IRC Questions

I agree with you, TroubledClef. It shouldn't be too hard at all for someone from hubski to obtain the #hubski channel. Freenode from what I have seen when I used it is stable and very well ran. They have policies in place from years of doing the IRC thing and are actually meant for communities like hubski.

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Don't Stop Evolving

Hello, thank you for the information.

1) That's certainly understandable. We've all(or most of us) have lives outside the internet. I'm glad to hear hubski is still being developed and I hope to see the features(and maybe others) developed natively into hubski. I hope you guys(or gals?) don't let it drag on for years like reddit does toward RES.

2) I'm heading to check out the hubsi moderation next. My main concern was really with as hubski grows more and the userbase gets more and more diverse that the admin(moderators) of hubski can't control the content just because they personally don't like something. I think many new users here including myself would be very interested in the moderation of hubski. I just don't want conversations to be posted but secretly hidden behind marketers and the like or for the posts here to be moderated to suit one persons interest.

I haven't looked everywhere yet but maybe you can tell me.

Does hubski have or plan to have a public log showing what has been deleted regarding posts that says why such and such was deleted, or is there a global feature for the admins(mods) to mute a user or rather in reddit terms shadow ban a user? If so, is there a public log of who/why?

Basically, my questions are in regards to transparency. How transparent is hubski ?

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Don't Stop Evolving

The idea of viewing someones profile and seeing how many people have hushed/filtered/muted seems like a good idea when you first think about it. Until, you think about how it would create a herd mentality and in my opinion, make hubski less personal.

I personally wouldn't want that to happen because I am afraid what else it would bring with it.

The way it is now, from how I see it, you can make your feed very personal tailored to what you like without worrying so much about getting "grouped" online socially here into a certain niche.

Bleu  ·  3434 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: How do you relax?

I like to lay in bed and browse the internet on my tablet(Nexus 7). I use to use my iPad for this everyday until I cracked the screen. I love just browsing the internet and reading about anything and everything.

I also like to lay with my wife and close our eyes and just relax and talk about whatever comes up very calmly. We usually watch Netflix everyday together and cook together too.
