Well Hubski, it's the 4th of July, it's beautiful out where I am, and I'm waiting for the coals to catch for some rib-eyes. What are you grilling? What have you grilled? What are you going to grill? Any master chef secrets?
My wife and I had tacos today. I tried to get her to have some grilled cheeseburgers with me this evening (EST) but she wasn't having it! We did have cheeseburgers yesterday though. I love good ole' American cheeseburgers nice and greasy with a nice thick sesame seed bun with ketchup, mustard, pickles, onion, and mayonnaise. Yum! Absolutely delicious!
In posted the wrong link. Sorry about that. Afk, sparklers in hand. I'll be back :)
Ha! Here is what I meant to post. It's far more relevant. Also, the owls are not what they seem: (that owl bit will only make sense if you're a twin peaks fan)
We tried grilling apricots once, thinking that they would be like grilled peaches. They were most definitely not like peaches! Grilling them made them super sour and acidic rather than super sweet and delicious. Definitely do not recommend grilled apricots, but grilled peaches are still yummy!
We don't use a recipe for them, we just throw them on medium indirect heat until they get a bit of char. It makes them much juicier, and it makes the peaches sweeter!
Ah, I think that apricots don't have enough 'free' juice in them to grill them dry like that. If you use slightly unripened apricots (halved and pitted) you can stick them in a sweet marinade for no more than an hour that isn't too heavily flavored and grill them with the cut side down. It goes really well with soft and gamy cheese, and makes a nice side for grilled lamb or goat.
