We have to at least try something, Obama doesn't necessarily have to do it anyway. But even promoting net neutrality is a start
I think that if Obama can enforce some sort of net neutrality, that it can turn out to become his lasting legacy. The internet and its open usage and freedom is only going to become more important. If we can now introduce some sort of legislation that favors the people instead of major conglomerate corporations, it will be beneficial for years to come. In the first part of the article it has quotes from leaders from Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast, and that just made me laugh. Those companies disgust me with their interests. If for a second you can tell me that Comcast is looking out for everyone in the long run, with a straight face, I would laugh at you.
I do, so that sounds cool to me
Oh cool a map would help out a lot, that's a good find. As a side note, The Stand is a fantastic book, good choice! At the moment I started the book and am almost finished with the second chapter (like 25-30 pages). I'll stop here and wait for everyone to get it and read up to the same point , but right now its great a really unique plot.
Yes
Wow, okay! That sounds cool, i'm glad you're interested and I'll keep you informed
SUNY schools for the win!
God I love this thread.
How about this
And even this!
What came to mind when I read this is 19th century Russian literature. Authors like Dostoevsky and Tolstoy, to an extent, were very good at writing long dinner scenes and passages about peoples personal lives and how they acted without furthering the plot. I really enjoy those authors and their writing style, its interesting to have a glimpse on a different era.
A lot of kids in my town have been getting access to heroin now. I see plenty of death notices in the paper of kids I went to high school with. I personally didn't realize you could snort heroin, I thought it was only direct injection. A false perception I feel some kids have is that its better for you if you don't inject it, safer to snort. Very dumb, I hope the trend stops
Well that's very interesting, I wonder what connections if any this has with depression. To me it seems it would have a high correlation, which is unfortunate that a simple human trait so many people have can cause it.
Sounds ominous...gives new hubskiites something to be afraid of, keeps them on their toes
was there something said in the rewind sound at the very end? like devil worshippy esque?
Okay will do, have to find some popcorn first!
What the hell is it though
orrrrrr Wall-E which is awesome.
Hey I like your last little paragraph, is it ok if i quote it? Not anywhere public but just for my own personal use/thoughts
happy birthday! ..wait wrong person
I don't know, but maybe if local politics became more important people would feel it had more bearing on their every day life.
Do you think that a smaller government would be helpful?
This is such a fantastic list. So many new things learned! I use dark, almost always have except when I first came here and used snow for some reason..
My vote is for GhostofFluffle and Millie. Rest easy Millie. Also, I like pie
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096316/ This reminds me of a movie I saw in my entrepreneurship class. Big government taking on the awesome car maker. Sigh
My roommate hunts from a tree stand and with a bow. I am pro-meat and I am neutral on hunting. I personally wouldn't do it because I would feel too much guilt/be too squeamish. However I feel that it is a healthy thing to do and venison is one of the most delicious meats ever. It is natural to eat meat, perhaps not natural the way we go about doing it, i.e large corporations controlling the industry. If there was a better way to give the world nutrients then I'd say go for it, then the world could be a better place. But for now I don't see how militant vegetarianism does anything helpful. Awareness is growing at a steady rate, but there are no sustainable veggie solutions at hand
I've never played on the 3DS, nor do I think I ever will. But my friend has a wii and he left it in my room so we can play Brawl. I really love it but he's so much better than me and always kicks my ass. None of my friends can beat him, and we've ruined a few gamecube controllers over it. Such a good game, I wish it well as it goes to new systems
Unexpectedly drunk is the best kind of drunk. Although I don't normally research monkey pregnancies at the same time..
Can't, traveling to NYC for Comic-Con on Wednesday
Grace is Gone by Dave Matthews, I heard it on the radio last week for the first time, and I loved how soothing it was for such a sad sounding song. I don't think its sad, for me at least I just think its pleasant.
Another one of the many reasons why I enjoy watching Dr. Who. Hey maybe after you die you can go back to a moment in your life and experience it for an eternity, who knows. I sure don't. But its fun to think about it at least. I love what-if scenarios, I ask my friends the weirdest questions just as random what ifs for fun. What if everyone always had cheetos powder covering their fingers at all time, what would the world be like? Might not be quiiite as deep as what you're thinking about but the thought process is the same to me. Makes things interesting!
