I was reading a bit about this subject recently. This article extrapolates the motherhood/parenthood/community breeding and rearing hierarchy into humans as a study of anthropology. Really interesting stuff.

I'm unexpecetedly drunk, because playoff baseball, but this strikes me as being similar to the non-nuclear families of the 19th century and so on -- lot of people think our child-raising problems have to do with the narrowness and fraigility of the nuclear family strucutre.
