I will add this to the list of reasons why I don't wear deodorant.
Instead of just taking a few genes from Barley and sticking it into rice, we should just make a new super human-made grain-starch-grass-plant... that you can all use for biofuel and clothing if you want... beer and bread too. We need this plant.
Well... Attempt #2 for me, so far I am on day 5ish or something so far... but I have been Chomping on Nicorette gum the whole time... we will see what happens.
I am trying it this time with Nicortette gum this time.
I just listened to the Silence one. It reminded me of a thought I had the other day after I found probably the quietest spot in Sao Paulo (a very noisy city) on a windy evening... if you are sitting in a very windy area the wind can block out all other sounds all you hear is air, silence... I thought it was more profound at the time, but your podcast reminded me of that (or a reflection of the idea).

If you wanted a more 'free speech' platform frizbee
I clicked the link it is a printing service in the UK. Are you saying that the only free speech medium is mom and pop printers?
yeah, that sounds more likely, but still earthlings spread.
Mine was:
I really like hubski, but my only complaint is that it is small and not much content. It needs to grow, and the only way its going to grow is if people post stuff, so post away my friend, post away!
Or, could you do that for me?
Google+ is pretty good. I had forgotten about it for the past few months, at the time it helped me get off of facebook... now I see it will help me with the reddit... google+ is still that secluded mountain top with just a few tents, but the view is amazing (the news feed).
Better off ted. I should really re-watch that show, I hardly remember it but I know that it just ended, so sad. I also enjoyed Flashforward, it was cancelled for good reason I guess, but I liked it and it ended on such a cliff hanger for the next season.
That's not good.
I went ahead and just made v/hubski. I do not really want to be the mod so if anyone else wants to be a mod let me know... I am not sure what the purpose of that verse is, but it's there...
I read some stuff on the internet about a drug called Valporate a year or so ago, apparently some have noticed that they can learn languages more like a child with it. I am looking for an easy solution like that...
Yeah, but there are also a lot of kits out there to get started with. I am also more interested in the automation and software side of things. For one of my work projects I started playing around with openCV, which is basically a software suite that can be used to give your computer a visual cortex... like your webcam can capture images but openCV can see the images and be trained to understand what it is looking at. I never quite figured out how to do those 4 or so lines of code that would have automated the monotonous watching of trail cameras from my project, but it is technically possible. Anyway, if I had a little remote control car or quad copter with a few cameras on it attached to a raspberryPI I am pretty sure I could get it to find a poweroutlet to charge itself when it's battery gets low.
I suck at new languages... how do I get past that while still existing in the English internet world the majority of my day behind my computer?
Or you could do what I did and sneak in an ecology (field work) part into your PhD proposal for molecular biology things. What do you like so far in biology? Specific type of organism? Have you started doing research in someones lab? I am sure you have heard before, but hands on experience as an undergrad is so crucial, and the earlier you start the more time you have to play around and find a lab you like.
I am thinking about taking a run right now (Just watched the Running Sucks one)...
I am just finishing the NSA one. I like the music you guys use in the background. I am liking the vibe I am getting from the community here and it seems it originates from the core team. Keep it up guys!
It depends on what a mug exactly is... I would kinda say my Maß is kinda like a mug. I mainly use it for water, sometimes beer, I do not think I have used it for coffee...
speaking of poland is #polandball here?
This book and the author gets alot of Flak... but I gotta say Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.
Chemist here (actually a biochemist/botanist)... anyway, you do not need that "^" in CO2, CO2 is just fine. Although what would be even better would be to have the 2 as a subscript, but I do not know how to do that in hubski yet. My guess is that with this model the footprint estimates would be low since it seems these values are based on German figures, and Germany is very green. So, lets say I am sitting in an inefficient country that wastes resources... I have a feeling using my computer here might have a larger carbon footprint.
wait a second... Are you saying that war torn Ukraine is better than Brazil? After living in Sao Paulo for the past four years I would not be entirely surprised.

THE MARTIAN! by Andy Weir
All good, I guess it should have just gone in the text anyway.
