Does that mean we may see iOS/Android apps at some stage then?

Hey man, Congrats!

We just had our first baby 4 weeks ago, and everything is going beautifully. A bit of sleep dep, but that's to be expected. I have two pieces of advice for you: 1. Always accept help from friends and family - whether its cleaning, cooking, washing... whatever. You'll appreciate it, trust me. 2. Everyone is going to offer you advice, that doesn't mean you have to do as suggested. That includes these.

:)

Its a big call hey. I'm certainly going to be keeping my eyes and ears out to see what they get up to. All in all, I think what they are doing/have done may be making a point, but I don't think they are necessarily doing the right thing. Its a difficult line.

What you did is perfect, and addresses what you were saying, in that you might follow someone but want to ignore a tag they post in.

I saw a post about Architecture. Ignored it, and reloaded page and it didnt show up. Perfect, but here is how it gets better. I also decided to follow Lessismore, as he/she has some good posts. Now, lessismore is the one who posted the architecture thread, and even though I ignored architecture, I'm following lessismore, so it showed the thread, but showed I had also ignored architecture by putting it in red.

Love it!

I'd personally hate to see that stuff come to Hubski. Reddit and 9gag are already packed with them, why not just go there?

astol  ·  4348 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Google Is Attacking Apple From The Inside Out—And It's Working

Yeah, I thought it was pretty interesting. I'm in two minds about Google taking over the world. I like it because they do things the way I would do it, and they do what they do well. The problem is, they have access to all our stuff - emails, blog entries, social media/networking, search history and trends... I mean, it helps them develop things we need and want, but its scary how much info they have on us.

Not once, but twice. look at his first full season back since the '94 retirement, the Bulls went 72-10. Unbelieveable. And look at the opponents, many getting 60+ W's in the same season, so not easy competition.

Then with the Wizards, came back in his late 30's/early 40's and still dominated. The man is a living legend, and one that will be near impossible to top.

On my feed page, with the list of links etc, it doesnt show the time posted. TBH I only just noticed the time showing when you open the link comments, but there is no "Posted: 16 hours ago" when looking at the feed. At least for me. I can screenshot if need be.

Actually the keyboard looks awesome, and I believe you can no longer disable to metro interface. Also, its not just a metro interface on top of windows 7, theres a whole list of new features etc in win8. Most of what I have heard about it has been extremely positive.

astol  ·  4602 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Why Kobe's 2012 Season Pushes Him Past Jordan
HAHAHAHA. I laugh in the face of this... abomination of an article.

Blasphemy, I dont think so, Jordan accepts all challengers. but let me point out a few things:

"During his career, Jordan won six NBA titles. Bryant currently has five. Jordan's championship performances are the gold standard in basketball, but Bryant holds the same competitive attitude and has the hardware to prove it. "
Take note, Bryant has 1 less title than Jordan. Not a huge factor, but still a point to note. What really gets me here is the last sentence. Jordan IS the gold standard, Kobe has "the attitude" to be competitive. Jordan played in an era with some of the best player to ever play the game. Kobe's early career was amongst some decent players, but not the calibre of what Jordan faced. There is so much I can and want to put into this, but I'll keep it short and hit you with some figures.

Jordan Career: 30.1ppg @ 49.7 FG% 6.2rpg 5.3apg 2.3stl 0.8bpg 2.7to and only 1.7 Three Point Attempts Per Game.

Best Season: Age 23, 3rd season in. 37.1ppg @48.2%, 5.2rpg, 4.6apg, 2.9stl, 1.5bpg with only 66 TOTAL 3pa

Kobe Career: 25.4ppg @ 45.3 FG% 5.3rpg 4.7apg 1.5stl 0.5bpg 3.0to and 3.9 3pa per game

Best Season: Age 27, 10th season in 35.4ppg @45%, 5.3 rpg, 4.5apg, 1.8stl, 0.4bpg, with 518 TOTAL 3pa

My point - Jordan was more efficient, and better in almost all aspects of the game (including defence). That is all.

astol  ·  4601 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Why Kobe's 2012 Season Pushes Him Past Jordan
I'm sorta hoping someone can and will make a strong challenge to Jordan down the track, much like Kobe has. It keeps the game interesting and great to watch. Kobe, LeBron... they can/do come close, but so far, close isnt really all that close. For the foreseeable future, Jordan is GOAT. Perhaps forever. (I hope!)

You meant the old Isiah Thomas, played for the Pistons in the 90s?
