The new Church album Further/Deeper is quite good, despite a new guy replacing Marty Wilson-Piper on guitar. Kilbey's voice is still strong and it really fits in well with the rest of their catalogue. I think they are touring with Psychedelic Furs (I have seen both live and would see them again), but last I read it was only in Europe.
I meant that knighthood being less noble and more about the cash seems, in my mind, like something we might have come up with, being that our whole culture seems so to revolve around the dollar. I was referencing my mistaken ideas about the knighthood -vs- the reality that knights service isn't some high-minded noble position, so much as a recognition of raking in alot of cash.
Being from small town, USA, I admit my ignorance regarding such manners. I always presumed that knighthood had something to with social stature, dedication to the arts, bravery or positive contributions to society maybe. As with LiveAid, I thought it was due to the charitable nature of the thing. Learning that it is simply a matter recognizing someone's generation of revenue & less noble than I thought is disappointing. It seems so...American? to me, somehow.
I have wondered, over the years, why it is that only Paul was knighted.
I have been enjoying this playlist of songs inspired by Hannibal. It's really soothing during a long night alone in the bakery. http://8tracks.com/haliameguid/a-little-meat-music
I have to say no. I'm sure I would fill alot of that extra time with bad habits. I do not need an excuse to eat another 3 meals per day. The boredom would surely drive me back into addiction. As a single person with no family, I struggle with what to do with my free time as it is. I think the biggest thing about sleep is getting a fresh perspective on things upon waking and knowing no matter how tough today was that tomorrow things may be better. It's not always the case, but if I didn't have that I would probably fall into deep depression.
Great way to stay in shape and make a positive contribution to the community. We need more people like this. I got a gopro as a gift several months ago and haven't used it once.
There are so many different stories going on within the Wire. When it aired, it was definitely one of the few shows that, regardless of what what was going on, I knew I would be tuning in. It really puts you through the ringer, emotionally. Like Breaking Bad, I was sad when it ended, but satisfied none the less. I would agree that it's not a show you can just casually watch and that it is about the payoff. I've been considering rewatching, but it is such an investment.
The Wire is my all-time favorite show. It really just did everything right. Really excited about the new season of Hannibal. It's just really classy horror with high production values and I am always intrigued by the background music and sound work. The characters are compelling and the story is really well written. I just learned that there is an episode (after the Boston Marathon bombing) that never aired in the US, but made it onto the blu-ray.
Lately, I have been hooked on this Black Bean Tacos with Feta and Slaw. This is an easy simple recipe to satisfy your craving for some food truck tacos while maintaining your healthy eating habits. Awesome with chalula hot sauce.
Bonjour! I am a baker by trade. My biggest accomplishment is getting away from drugs and alcohol. Gave up drugs in '09 and booze in 2013. Adopted a vegetarian lifestyle a year ago and recently began running 3 days a week. I live in the midwest and am in the process of renovating a home in a quiet neighborhood 5 minutes from a peaceful lake. No kids, wife, debts or pets. I realized while writing this that I have been single and alone for 6 years!?!
