Thanks for the original link.
Ooh I love this.
I installed it and have browsed Hubski for about 5 minutes testing each of the Enhancement Suite's features. First of all, the Auto loading new posts while scrolling works very nicely, the new posts are loading extremely quickly, I'm impressed. The collapsing comments works great. And the unicode arrows are an improvement on a previous comment collapsing scrips I have seen. All the keyboard shortcuts work and are not difficult to remember. I'm really happy with the suite so far, thanks for putting in the work.
One more thing I'd like to see is a section in the user control panel devoted to HES which allows a user to individually turn on/off each feature of HES. For example I could turn off comment collapsing, but keep on Autoloading posts and keyboard shortcuts.
That is a luxury I know people would enjoy. Great work Josh.
1999 All over again?
Oh yeah, my username... Not related.
An interesting suggestion raised by a commenter on the article:
It's not what they're doing, but what could be
done; living cell arranged in such a controlled way could easily build replacement organs or even limbs, opening a whole new field in medicine and giving hope to thousands.
This is a really neat possibility. We aren't exactly lacking hamburgers in the world, so once the meat-printing tests move forward, if this 3D printing of bio-material becomes cheaper and more accessible, we could possibly print 'real' human muscle or skin etc. that could be used in replacement of skin grafts on burn victims for example.
Also perhaps in the more distant future the chance to print entire limbs of people to transplant on. The medical appplications of 3D bio-printing is the direction I can see this heading. Very cool stuff.
Theoretically, if you had a portion of this super-food, which was the size of a piece of gum, yet had enough nutrients packed into it to sustain you for a full day. Similar to Willy Wonka's gum. Would you still feel hunger? I have a feeling that even with the perfect energy and nutrients in a tiny portion, still lacks the volume required to fill your stomach. Still an good point/idea with amazing potential.
I held similar apprehensions. Google already knows too much about me. Giving Google control over a physical (as opposed to digital) records of me approaches a limit of personal privacy.
Ah, I see. That does make a lot more sense. Poor choice of title for that article then, shouldn't have used the phrase "replace".
Wow I had no Idea the place was still in such a state of devastation. It really was bad. On another note, I really love theatlantic.com's In Focus photography sets. HERE is one of my favorites.
As an Australian, I really enjoy not-having guns everywhere. Why do Americans hold on so tightly to a Bill of Rights, or a Constitution, when it has become such an outdated scripture and could use some reform?
So stupid. The blue line on that graph shouldn't exist.
Or bowling balls.
Is TNG Podcast available on iTunes?
That sounds frightening. Could you expand on this?
Do you expect this possibility to come about in the form of humanoid robots who interact like humans and effect the environment? Or rather AI computers which continue to communicate with one-another after all humans are deceased?
What are the ramifications?Non-biological AI will inherit the Earth from us.
I don't have any reasoning behind it, but I feel like they might be dead.
Damn. That is cool. Makes me disappointed that I will never get to see anything like that.
Yes. Also I doubt your age, location and gender had any effect on which result you were given, only which head you clicked. But wait... could it?I too wish they hadn't included tags. They could have told you afterwards.
I picked that one too. Strangely though there was not any one in particular that I 100% agreed with.
Good job, thanks!
I've seen mk or thenewgreen comment on this somewhere... They made the point that this is intentional, so that users will not be discouraged to comment on a topic just because it is old. Let the conversation stay relevant for longer.
That's a really cool photo. That pic would fit two monitors also. Btw, I think you spelled your tag wrong, you may want to edit that.
Great work minimum_wage, this was something I had suggested and wished for. Glad I can navigate comments a bit easier now. Found one bug with it though, if you click a users name, to bring up their profile, it also collapses their comment thread in the background. It shouldn't do this.
That was actually incredibly well done. Love it.
BoC respect.
Gotcha. Makes sense now. Also, I fixed the image in my bio. I figured out the cutoff for logged in users is actually 28-29. Sadly this makes the image incredibly small. Hoping this actually gets changed one day.
Wow that is strange.
Somehow I doubt that nitrous was the only thing in that girls system.
Haha what a great idea :P
