This is nothing of a major issue but it's something that doesn't make sense and would be nice if it weren't so.
I experimented with putting an image in my bio and when I did it shifted the entire column of my recent posts and shares down to underneath the image. Even though the image is relatively small and even lesser in width than some of the above text, under Stats.
Click on my name to see what I mean.
If I were to insert the same amount of text writing in my bio instead that takes the same volume of space as the image, the 'Recent' column still sits in its correct position.
It would be nice if putting an image in your bio didn't shift all the recent stuff down to below, so that an onlooking user wouldn't need to scroll down to see the rest of the info. Perhaps the grey info pop-up box could expand its height/width to make up for the image.
Thanks.
I'll be honest, I didn't realize that images would embed in the profile page. I just added one and it's definitely not formatting properly. Nice find gang.
I'm very happy that images embed inside profiles. It adds possibility for customizable flair to it. Your image is quite large though, so I'm not surprised that it reformatted poorly. It would be really nice if the profile box would expand horizontally rather than vertically. Like this mock up i made: That would solve the problem. And perhaps if there was an image size limit for embedding to profiles it would avoid people putting massive images that would break the formatting. thenewgreen are you a Hubski dev? Or just an influential user?
The team is mk, b_b and myself (with a soon to announce addition) but it is certainly the brain child of mk. this article does a nice job giving some background and describing how we all approach hubski. Thanks for your help fox.
Thanks for clearing that up. And from the interview article:
I get it now! That's really a fantastic idea and a great way to put it.Also, once a post or a comment gets beyond 8 shares, it can’t go any higher. This takes the ego/gaming out of the equation, making a post or a comment [ways to add] to the community or the discussion rather than to garner “points”.
