Could be a combination of lifestyle factors and chromosomes.
Ugh, this is so disheartening to read and gives me such a terrible flashback from 2016. That is a good way to put it. Last night at the beginning of his speech he introduced his wife as his sister and his sister as his wife and then said "they switched on me!" I have no idea if he was making a terrible joke or is legitimately confused but either way it sums up his personality.David Axelrod, Obama’s former strategist, has noted that Biden seems to be “Mr. Magooing” his way through the primary
Really hoping to read about how Warren backs Sanders today.
If shitting the bed means an insane golden parachute...
I understood some of those words.
The existence of people/families like this is why I don't think billionaires should be a thing.
I hope you are right, I just feel that every shot the candidates take at the eventual leader will be parroted by Trump 10 fold. That would probably be a good thing. However, as much as pundits talk about the damage of primary in-fighting, November is a long way off and we have short memories.
For the sake of the democratic party, I really hope this thing gets wrapped up by Tuesday so whoever is leading can focus on Trump.
I did like him a lot more than Biden.
Biggest mistake was yapping to his SO.
a nice long PSA to always routinely shop for new insurance every year or two in order to make sure your rates are competitive.
Sorry, this comment is in regards to the new yorker article that was linked in the article you posted :https://www.newyorker.com/culture/cultural-comment/against-chill-apathetic-music-to-make-spreadsheets-toAs a listener I do not see a distinction between ambient electronic music and chillhop. People have been using music as a tool to help focus for a long time, I don't really see anything to get upset about.

Definitely not but I find myself automatically hating on something when I hear terms like "Plantfluencers" and instagram trends. Kind of reminds me of koi fish collecting.
If instagrammers want to spend hundreds of dollars on plans, who the hell am I to judge. Not any different from collecting magic the gathering cards or a million other things that people collect.
Trump and his team likely couldn't be happier seeing what they saw from this debate. Arguments about capitalism versus socialism, moderates unable to settle on one candidate and overall squabbling are music to the Make America Great Again crowd's ears. A long, drawn-out nomination contest — which everyone is now expecting — helps the president. The longer the prize is in play, the longer it takes for Democrats to focus on Trump, build the needed infrastructure for a national campaign and raise the necessary money to win. Trump got some good news out of the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll: 41% say the country is headed in the right direction, which is the highest in eight years of the poll; Trump has a 44% approval rating among registered voters; 54% approve of his handling of the economy; and 66% say the economy is working well for them personally. With those improving numbers and Democratic infighting, Trump and his team are liking their chances. This is such a depressing section to read knowing how true it is.6. The person all of this helps the most is Trump.
Any benefits Nextdoor has in connecting government workers and the community could be replaced by a general city app. You should not be using nextdoor to 911 calls and the non emergency number should have an app so appropriate information is filed. Also I am sure there are a lot of other branches of the local government that could be keyed in like parks department and waste management. Sure is nice for boomers to bitch about the sky falling though.
I have never felt the need to vet which make of airplane I am flying on until recently...
Decent article. The authors use of the term luck is synonymous with what many liberals call privileged, be it racial, economic, cultural, or health related. I think luck is a less divisive word.
Completely agree that there are diminishing returns with regards to effort and that last few percent of full self driving. But changing our roads would be trillions of dollars and would still require new car tech. Full self driving will happen by the end of this decade.Self-driving cars are imitating human driving, and the imitation is hitting diminishing returns because computers are ill-adapted for the domain. We'd probably get more ROI changing the roads (the domain) at this point.
While I agree that full self driving in 100% of conditions is still a ways off, it is short sighted to say it's not going to happen. Right now tesla autopilot is like a beefed up adaptive cruise control. There are plenty of warnings that state to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. In no way are tesla's current iteration of autopilot "self driving". They are making great steps towards that but still not there yet. You are judging this accident from such a human perspective rather than seeing it from an engineering problem. Are humans currently better at seeing perpendicular semi trucks crossing in front of them in certain circumstances? Apparently yes. Are humans better at keeping their attention on the road 100% of the time than computers? The statistics say no. I can think of loads of examples of things that are going to be difficult to program for, things like emergency vehicles, severe weather, erratic drivers, etc. but I have confidence eventually they will figure it out. In the meantime I will enjoy the progress autopilot is making with every over-the-air update. However, both of those figures are better than the statistics for Teslas without Autopilot engaged: one accident for every 1.76 million miles driven in Q4 2018 and one every 1.58 million miles driven in Q1 2019. Teslas with or without Autopilot engaged also appear substantially safer than the average car, based on the new Tesla data. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s most recent data, there’s an auto crash every 436,000 miles driven in the United States. In the fourth quarter of 2018, Tesla reported one accident for every 2.91 million miles driven with Autopilot engaged. The first Tesla safety report of 2019 shows that rate increasing slightly, to one accident every 2.87 million miles.
