Definitely not but I find myself automatically hating on something when I hear terms like "Plantfluencers" and instagram trends.

Trump and his team likely couldn't be happier seeing what they saw from this debate. Arguments about capitalism versus socialism, moderates unable to settle on one candidate and overall squabbling are music to the Make America Great Again crowd's ears.

A long, drawn-out nomination contest — which everyone is now expecting — helps the president. The longer the prize is in play, the longer it takes for Democrats to focus on Trump, build the needed infrastructure for a national campaign and raise the necessary money to win.

Trump got some good news out of the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll: 41% say the country is headed in the right direction, which is the highest in eight years of the poll; Trump has a 44% approval rating among registered voters; 54% approve of his handling of the economy; and 66% say the economy is working well for them personally.

With those improving numbers and Democratic infighting, Trump and his team are liking their chances.

Any benefits Nextdoor has in connecting government workers and the community could be replaced by a general city app. You should not be using nextdoor to 911 calls and the non emergency number should have an app so appropriate information is filed. Decent article. The authors use of the term luck is synonymous with what many liberals call privileged, be it racial, economic, cultural, or health related. I think luck is a less divisive word.

Self-driving cars are imitating human driving, and the imitation is hitting diminishing returns because computers are ill-adapted for the domain. We'd probably get more ROI changing the roads (the domain) at this point.

Completely agree that there are diminishing returns with regards to effort and that last few percent of full self driving. But changing our roads would be trillions of dollars and would still require new car tech. Full self driving will happen by the end of this decade.

While I agree that full self driving in 100% of conditions is still a ways off, it is short sighted to say it's not going to happen.

Right now tesla autopilot is like a beefed up adaptive cruise control. There are plenty of warnings that state to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. In no way are tesla's current iteration of autopilot "self driving". They are making great steps towards that but still not there yet.

You are judging this accident from such a human perspective rather than seeing it from an engineering problem. Are humans currently better at seeing perpendicular semi trucks crossing in front of them in certain circumstances? Apparently yes. Are humans better at keeping their attention on the road 100% of the time than computers? The statistics say no.

I can think of loads of examples of things that are going to be difficult to program for, things like emergency vehicles, severe weather, erratic drivers, etc. but I have confidence eventually they will figure it out. In the meantime I will enjoy the progress autopilot is making with every over-the-air update.

Teachers in about 15 states, including Ca, do not pay social security. I also would not generalize teacher protests into being about benefits and layoffs, I would say the number one issue is teacher pay, with many other issues coming second.
