There actually was and still is a movement for people to boycott the mega-banks and to move more money into credit unions. There have been a few over the past couple of years, but most recently was the one earlier this month. I believe it was on November 5th, and I've heard it referred to by a few different names, like "Move Your Money Day" or simply the "Bank of America Boycott."
But to address your larger point: you're right. I think The Tea Party (if it's still a thing) and OWS would have a lot to gain by reconciling their differences. If fact I wouldn't be surprised to find out that a lot of former Tea Partiers joined Occupy. I imagine that there is some significant overlap between the two groups.
Yeah, whenever I see people on both sides fighting against each other I get confused. Big Banks( which are what the OWS protesters are against) and Big Government( which is what the Tea Partiers are against) are both the problem because the government props up the banks and vice versa. If they work together they can get even more momentum going like you said.

I get that there is a movement to inform people and have them move their money into credit unions. What I'm suggesting is that people do it simultaneously. What if people signed a pledge to withdraw their funds and transfer them to their local credit union on a specified date... say, Monday January 2nd?.
I'd also specify that people do so dressed in their finest business attire, with no fan fare and make no mention of ows. -Just citizens exercising their right as consumers.
