I've been partaking in some live streaming/chat with OWS members. Many of them are very anti-tea party inclusion. I understand why they would be, the TP movement was quickly co-opted but in this video, I think you see that some of the TP aren't so different from many of the OWS crowd. They were just misrepresented. Like OWS's, they're sick of our tax dollars going to bail-out banks etc.
I guess all I'm saying is, together they could truly be a force to be reckoned with. Get rid of the crazies from either groups and you'd be left with some thoughtful people that have a lot in common. IMO.
As for the OWS movement, I don't see why they don't organize a massive strike of the big banks? Imagine 50,000 people simultaneously transferring all their savings in to credit unions from BOA etc. It would DEFINITELY get the establishments attention.
But to address your larger point: you're right. I think The Tea Party (if it's still a thing) and OWS would have a lot to gain by reconciling their differences. If fact I wouldn't be surprised to find out that a lot of former Tea Partiers joined Occupy. I imagine that there is some significant overlap between the two groups.
I'd also specify that people do so dressed in their finest business attire, with no fan fare and make no mention of ows. -Just citizens exercising their right as consumers.
