Great video. After surfing a few muppets videos myself I wanted to give a follow up and this is my favorite

Good call, that is an amazing video. I saw it for the first time a couple years back. Great stuff. I have a daughter and I recently played her this video that I loved when I was a kid. That first long arial shot is great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSFLZ-MzIhM

Still think the banjo is one of the coolest instruments.

Great video. Amazing that it was nominated for the best song academy award.

Do you fancy Beaker and Dr Bunsen Honeydew?

Of Course! What's not to fancy?

Jim Henson was a genius. This thread could go on all day:

Interesting. I have never seen that movie. Hensen was a master puppeteer obviously, and what is so great about puppets is that they can have more exaggerated features than actors. Its the same reason animated movies often tell a better story (Jafar in Aladdin is a good example).

You also have to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into these puppets. Like Yoda in "A New Hope". Modern CGI provides the same effect, and not that I don't appreciate the craftsmanship that is modern CGI, but with many digital crafts these days the fact that the result is not tangible makes it harder to appreciate. You'll never see a collector have the original digital copy (on a USB drive I suppose) of an album in their gallery the way that they might have the first press of a record.

"You'll never see a collector have the original digital copy (on a USB drive I suppose) of an album in their gallery the way that they might have the first press of a record.". -I don't disagree with this, necessarily. But, I bet when 8track, cd's etc were released there were plenty of people that tossed their vinyl because they couldn't conceive of anyone ever wanting those "relics" ever again.

The same may be true for mp3 someday. Who knows what different consumption devices we will have? It could be that someday mp3 players seem so very "tactile" compared to whatever advanced listening system is devised?! -Time will tell

But mp3 is an abstract concept. Intangible in itself. iPods may look weird in the future but digital music will exist in some form similar digital format.

You're right. But who knows what the future delivery system is? Musical pheromones? JK.
