Personally, I have a smart phone but do not have an app for QR codes. To me its like having to work extra hard to be sold something I probably don't want to buy.
The only time I find it intriguing is when they just flash one by subtly and makes you want to look it up like they did in Community (discussed on this thread http://boards.nbc.com/nbc/index.php?showtopic=847888)

Today a guy I met gave me his business card and it had a QR code on it. I scanned it and it immediately loaded his contact info in to my phone. I thought it was pretty cool. Bars are using them on coasters to display specials etc. There are applications that seem to be working. Some people want to interact with their marketing.
aside: The technology that I think is going to change mass behavior is in the digital payment sphere. -Square.

I can't pull bump out of a tray of cards, put in my pocket and then add it later.
