This is really nicely done. Each image shows all the factors. It's a very nice piece of code someone has worked out.
if you leave a browser tab open in the background and forget about it, you might wonder why your browser is so laggy and why your fans have spun up to audible levels and why the room is a little warmer... and then you realize it has counted up to a million.
Also I had to badge this post just given the reaction that I had to it. mike did you program this? Where did you find it.
I didn't program it but wish I had! It's from http://www.datapointed.net, the work of Stephen Von Worley who is a scientist and artist. He's got a lot of great stuff on the site.
Holy shit, I love this. It seems like you could program this with some sort of recursive function that finds the greatest prime and then recursively divides each set with its greatest prime. And then for each prime you just make a circle with each subgroup evenly spaced.
The other funny thing is there should be one new circle that appears on each iteration but as you get into the higher numbers its very hard to figure out where it comes from.
