I "think" that you will discover that "antifa" means "anti-fascist" and that there's no core mentality beyond "fascism is bad" which tends to make attempts to pin ideology on them much less successful.

Meanwhile, the Nazis that tend to form the core of most right-wing militias generally have no interest whatsoever in publicly standing behind their ideals.

So. While I appreciate your both-sidesism on this one, it's erroneous and inappropriate.

While you might be ok with your employees being part of the antifa I don’t think corporate HR would. Too many government contracts stake to risk it in most cases. Many companies will cancel you if you do anything that could even remotely embarrass them or tarnish the corporate image. While blue Americans might see antifa the same way you do, the red 40% believe it’s a domestic terrorist group. When it comes to cancel culture facts don’t matter, your life is just collateral damage in the war against whatever.

So many assumptions. So many sweeping generalizations. From the department of made up statistics department, 40% of Americans believe that antifa are terrorists!

Among Republicans, 81% say the Black Lives Matter movement makes protests more dangerous, compared with 41% of Democrats. Comparatively, 72% of Democrats say the same is true about conservative militias, compared with 41% of Republicans.

When broken down by party, 25% of Republicans and 85% of Democrats blame Trump for making the protests more dangerous. More than half (58%) of Republicans and only 7% of Democrats say the same of Biden.

Fuckin' 41% of Republicans think Proud Boys are terrorists, dawg. 25% of Republicans think Trump has made the country more dangerous. And what you're missing? Is that most of the "antifa" protests are happening in absurdly liberal places where they represent the mainstream opinion.

So you're worried about the government punishing those who express political opinions, but you don't like the anti-fascist movement? Your aversion seems to hinge on the branding of "Antifa" as violent anarchists. Again, most anti-fascists are NOT anarchists, and heavily discourage violence. I would argue that there are fewer things more patriotic than vigilance against fascism. And my god, do we need vigilance at this exact moment.

At this exact moment

While I don't encourage violence, I do try to understand it. Especially in the case of BLM, nonviolent efforts to draw attention to racism were disparaged as "unpatriotic", and even a simple acknowledgement of the way that black people feel about systemic racism has been refused, because "Let me tell you something. I've had the lowest African American unemployment rates in THE HISTORY of our country!"*. Not even something like "I disagree, but let's have a conversation about it." Only "You're wrong, there is no systemic racism, end of story". With an attitude like that, is it any surprise some people resorted to violence after they were presidentially canceled?

*I think he forgot about slavery. Seems to be a theme.
