Can someone give a summary of this? I haven't been following, and there's not much explanation.
The situation is basically this: At some point in the 90s this woman, a former senate staffer, may or may not have told people that Biden made her "uncomfortable" a few times. Then at some point in the 2010s she developed a strange fixation with Putin's leadership style. Then at some point in the last year she claimed that Biden harassed her. Then at some point this year she claimed he assaulted her. Then at some point last month she claimed he raped her, and some douchebag journalist trying to make a name for himself wrote about it when no one else would touch it due to its obvious falseness. Then the Bernie Bros blew up about "believe all women Bernie is the real nominee!!!!!!!!" So now Biden had to actually go on TV this morning and formally respond to what is very obviously a Russian disinformation campaign. This article is just another attempt to debunk her bullshit by pointing out that when she finally gave an account of her "rape" that she used language that was plagiarized from her dad's unsuccessful novel that I guess she didn't figure was in print or searchable. It's a bad situation when we know everything that happened in 2016 and whatever the current iteration of the Internet Research Agency is can still be this impactful. Trump, right wing media, and Russia are really really good at pushing the buttons of moron liberals on the internet. Just look at Al Franken's case. He was forced to resign because of news that was so verifiably fake that not even Hannity would touch it. The media are a bunch of dupes also, since even when they write about it as fake news they throw gas on the fire by making sure it stays in the public eye.
