Maybe they won't be the comic book red headed step child anymore Oh, you're talking about movie studios.
I'm talking about everything. Movie studios. Distribution systems. Intellectual property. It's crazy. Disney is pretty big as it is. Here's a list of all of their assets, some of them seem kind of repetitive, but you still get a pretty good idea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_assets_owned_by_Disney Here's what they stand to gain in the acquisition. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquisition_of_21st_Century_Fox_by_Disney The argument is that it'll give them a competive edge against other media companies, from traditional ones like Universal and NBC to modern ones like Netflix and Google, but to me, this feels like way too much. How do you expect companies like Netflix to compete against that? Shoot, if this merger goes through to get half the pop entertainment out there you'll have to do business with Disney or miss out. Edit: The best analogy I can think of is GM wanting to buy out Toyota because they say the competition from companies such as Tesla and Mazda as too tight.
