Dala and I plan to rock out to Beastie Boys as we bake cookies tomorrow. Anyone know of any good molasses cookies recipes?

This is the only sort of Christmas in July allowed in my house.

Found a pretty simple recipe online and they turned out quite good. Here's the link: http://whatsgabycooking.com/molasses-cookies/

Do you two have a copy of the Joy of Cooking?

I haven't tried them yet, but the "Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies" in my ~1970's edition of Joy looks pretty good.

I don't think I have ever had a copy of the Joy of Cooking but it keeps coming up in discussion around here and now I think I might have to keep an eye out for one.

Mine (it changed a lot over the years as various refreshes happened) is wacky and old and fun just to flip through. Along with "The Art of French Cooking", it's the only cookbook I've ever actually used more than once.

Not life changing or anything, but an interesting slice of time if found for the right price. I paid $8.50 for it, which seemed about right in the age of food blogs for as far as the eye can see.

I was gonna say "Of course we do!" but upon looking for it, it looks like we don't. Maybe it was one of the books that ended up in our handful of book purges the past two years? I dunno. We do have The Culinary Arts Institute Cookbook, so I could take a look in there, but I'll have to find it first . . .
