Higgs hasn't ever really wanted this much attention:
- He has long been uncomfortable even having his name attached to the particle, which is the key missing cornerstone of the Standard Model of physics.
Story here. What is clear, though, is his name will forever be tied to the theory and I don't have a problem with that. Whether Philip Anderson had the preliminary insight, Higgs and his team put the puzzle pieces together.

I haven't heard any national pride associated with Higgs Boson so much as just awe. CERN in itself is composed of various scientists from various regions. Atleast on a personal level, I never made the association.

#higgsy! I was thinking about that today as everyone was discussing the finding on the radio, what must it be like to be one of the others that worked equally with Peter Higgs to come up with the theory?
