Is this the piece that made you decide the 1st best solution to a complex problem was to take away a whole professions UN recognized universal human right?

I never wrote that teachers should have their right to unionize taken away, ever. I just don't think it's current manifestation is working in their favor. If teachers think that collectively banging their heads against a brick wall, in lockstep ia the best they can do to further their profession....then hey, that's their right. Many professions don't have unions despite their "right" to unionize. Why? Because they don't need one. The teachers union served it's purpose once, nice job. Now either change drastically or step aside.

Question: if you owned a home with a horrible foundation, leaky roof, rat infestation and rotting walls and infrastructure, would you take 20 years to individually fix each "complex" problem? No, you would likely do one of two things, you would either abandon the house all together or tear it down and rebuild.

Btw, did you enjoy the article? To answer the question you might have asked, "no this article didn't set me down the path of thinking teachers unions were bad for education. I have felt this way and have been having this discussion with people for a couple of years now. This article did reinforce some thoughts I've had on it's ineffectualness. Have a great day.

2 days ago you said "We need to abolish teachers unions," you repeated that sentiment multiple times in more than one post. Your position has changed, my work here is done.

It doesn't really matter that you don't understand that unions represent workers not, customers, students or employers, we'll save that for another day perhaps?

My positions the same. Either abolish or restructure in a way that their goals are so different it would likely not be recognizable or a "union" by your definition. So, I'm unchanged your "work" has bore no fruit. -but don't worry, you'll still get paid as if you had swayed me, the Hubski union will see to it.
