lololol
fucking good. as kb says, never never gawker ever.
I used to visit their sites. Still have a hard time not clicking on DeadSpin links which has had good sports gossip. The end for me was the /u/LucidEnding AMA post on reddit. 5 years ago. LE claimed to have only 51 hours to live and planned to overdose in accordance with Oregon’s assisted suicide law. To me it was obvious the guy was bullshitting and I had hundreds of downvotes. It was never conclusively proven but the generally accepted theory is that is that it was Gawker writer Adrian Chen trolling. And IMO he was trolling based off his knowledge from his undergrad studies. Reed College. Oregon. December 2008. Senior Thesis. Adrian Chen, “Death Talk: Media Discourse and the Right to Die Movement, 1990-1995” Source. I have never knowingly clicked a Gawker link since.
"Hogan's attorney Kenneth Turkel told the jury Gawker could have avoided the lawsuit if it would have simply taken down the video clip when first asked." That's the weirdest part. Just take it down, wait for it to be spread everywhere else on the internet, then put it back up with links to the OTHER site.
Sentences like that are often done to set an example of the company and threaten other companies to follow the rules. They also refused a court order to take down the video which may have contributed to it. http://gawker.com/a-judge-told-us-to-take-down-our-hulk-hogan-sex-tape-po-481328088
