So, there you have it. Debate all you want. They sampled 29 coney dogs over a three-day period. Traveled to 10 Michigan cities and 22 restaurants. And I put on about 700 miles on the car.

American and Lafayette are the only two I knew about prior to reading this. I lived in Ann Arbor for years and don't even know where Marks Mid Town is? -My bad. I also lived in Ypsilanti for 2 years and never went to Bill's.
Looks like I have some work to do when I get back to the Mitten. So have you eaten at all of them? If so, which was your favorite? I think they missed a key place: Coney Joe's in Brighton Michigan. I grew up in Brighton and when I was a kid it was a special treat if our dad took us to Coney Joe's. The waitstaff knew him by name and damn if that didn't impress me. When I was old enough to drive and have some pocket money, much of my time/money went to coney Joe's. A small hole in the wall diner -old school. Check it out.

Me too and my new years resolution was to give up meat for a year so far I have stuck to it but you're making it tough. This post makes me wish I could call a truce when I'm in michigan.
Good luck with your two week coney-thon!

Good luck with that. Years ago when I was working in a restaurant I was 200 lbs (I should be around 165-170) and I resolved to lose weight. I did it by cutting out carbs like bread, pasta etc. and eating more protein. I also eliminated any soda from my diet. It worked, I got to 165 pretty quickly. I also added in exercise. Musn't forget the exercise. That said, I need to go for a run today --- thanks for the unintended motivation :-)
Good luck! Coney dog -- no bun.
