I think sometimes in our US vs. THEM political system, the "other" is often demonized to the extreme. I think that when a piece like this gets published - it can serve as a reminder that we're probably a lot more alike than different. All democrats are baby-killing, treehugging, rich-taxing, welfare-dolling, socialists. All republicans are god-fearing, SUV-driving, tax-cutting, war-mongering, racists.
Except we weren't all the same when Bush was president. Republicans were driving SUVs like it was their duty, cutting taxes for Trumps and Hiltons, and starting racist wars. The delay by Republicans in acknowledging the reality of climate change will probably go unremarked by history. But I haven't flushed it down the memory hole yet.
