Waterfox I use it on the kid's PCs at the hospital and at home. 64 bit runs super stable, uses all the firefox addons, and won't go to the new add on API that Mozilla is moving towards. I've been using Waterfox for, a year now maybe? Try that one out.
There's no significant benefits from running a 64-bit spinoff of Firefox yet. If you strongly disagree with the decisions of Mozilla, you can use explicitly privacy-focused flavors like TorBrowser or GNU IceCat.

On my Windows 8.1 box that I use for gaming, Firefox acted... weird. I'm not sure what Waterfox is doing different, but it has been more stable and responsive. Funny thing is that Waterfox does not like running in my VM that I use to tinker with Linux flavors. Not sure why.
