Hi there, you look fairly new to the site so I thought I'd say Welcome! and thank you for your input on this subject, I found there was a large body of Chinese-speaking students at the University of the West of England (UWE) when I attended and the UK certainly seemed like a popular destination for international students, so it's interesting to see that there has been a decrease in popularity. I wonder if there's anybody publishing statistics anywhere on this?

A Guardian blog post from 2014: Drop in foreign student numbers: are UK universities too complacent? seems to support this idea but I did a quick comparison, UWE claim 2,838 international students in 2011/2012 source and 3,463 international students in 2013/2014 source so they've actually seen an increase!
