At one end of the possibilities: A repeat of the 1967 Mulford Act when Ronald Reagan banned open carry in California in response to the Black Panthers there. It's hard to predict how such a movement would turn out today though. Doubtless it would get bad press from Fox, maybe it would lead to conflicts with overzealous police, possibly it could lead to a change in law?...
