I have no problem with the "serious comic book movie" formula DC is going with. In fact, I embrace it. I care a lot more about movies that grab emotionally or cognitively than those that seek to entertain first with spectacle or humor (unless I'm watching something that is meant to be a comedy). I've enjoyed the Avengers movies and the MCU, sure. But they haven't stuck with me like Nolan's Batman trilogy, and I'm hardly a Nolan fan boy. I'd only say The Avengers, GotG, and The Winter Soldier are very good movies of the lot. None are great like TDK, to me. I'd even place Batman Begins over most. This looks like it's going to look at Superman and Batman from interesting perspectives. It also hopefully is emotionally captivating with a strong narrative. I didn't like Man of Steel that much, but I'm cautiously optimistic for this. I'm actually even a little hyped.
