Red Dead Redemption is literally a perfect game: amazing story, top notch acting, beautiful visuals, and amazing gunplay. Same goes for Bully. However, it's been a while since they've mentioned either one of the titles. With Bully's cult fan base, and Red Dead's commercial success I see no reason why we shouldn't expect an announcement in the not-so-distant future. What do you guys think? What would you like to see in the next Red Dead or Bully? I'd really love to hear your guy's thoughts!
I hope that if they do another Red Dead that they bring a port to PC like Gta V and in a timely manor. I don't think I could wait another year and a half after launch.
I can only imagine what modding will look like in a western video game.
Instead of repeaters there would be grenade launchers.
I loved Red Dead Redemption, I think the underlying feeling of struggling against the encroachment of the modern world, and watching the end of the 'Wild West' was fantastic. I'd love to see them go in the opposite direction with the next one, so we could follow the story of the birth of the West, perhaps follow the great migration of Wagon Trails as people went in search of land to settle. I reckon there are a lot of great stories that could be created in that context.
The birth of the Wild West didn't necessarily take affect until the mid-late 1870's. That would be very interesting! Some people have suggested that it take place during the prohibition era (which would just make it another GTA, so it's probably a no-go). I think the next Red Dead should be the last one. What, really, is there more to say after the next one?
Yeah a prohibition era game would be too similar to GTA! I would love to see a prequel story about the life of Uncle and what led him to the state he is in at the time of Red Dead Redemption. I thought he was an interesting character for sure! There was a lot of questions about his story and how people treated him. But you're right, if they chose a new storyline, they'd soon run out of options to say any more!
I always got the impression that John Marston was too harsh on him! Maybe I need to replay it, it's been a couple years!
To be honest I'd prefer another Red Dead completely unrelated to Redemption. A fresh start.
Unfortunately for me, I've never played either Red Dead or Bully, but I've heard good things about both and the GTA series is really well-done and enjoyable. If they did wind up making a new RD or Bully, I'd definitely get my hands on a copy. What, do you think, would the stories be about? Would they be sequels, or just set in the same universe?
There will be no sequel, just the same universe I would think. If you're planning on playing the next Bully or Red Dead, I would suggest playing the FIRST Bully and play Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar strives for originality, so I'd hope they don't make the next Red Dead some typical "shoot 'em up" western about a deranged bounty hunter. Something real and authentic, and not so far-fetched. I'm not sure about Bully though, because that was a pretty strange one (in a good way).
