People keep saying that, but I don't get why they care except in mega-extremes.

I think, for example, that the SPLC is pretty much a net negative on the legal scene, but I don't boycott GE appliances because of corporate giving.

Jane Fonda, now, that's a whole different matter. :-)

You think the SPLC is a negative organization? How so? They're dedicated to tracking (potentially dangerous) hate groups. They also seem to do a small amount of important civil rights litigation as well.

They used to be pretty darn impressive. You should read up on them. It's a pretty big deal locally how much the board is pillaging the endowment, etc, etc.

I'd love to read anything you could find that tells that story. On the national level, I only see their organization reflected positively through their court cases and anti-hate work.
