As a matter of fact, you're likely on to the right track of thought to doubt the clear "made-up-ness" that seems to populate most discussion between conventional theorists today..

Except we have to create 99% of the matter we say must be there, but that can't be measured by any existing technique, unless we throw created math formulas at it that we 'correct' until they say what we want them to say"
