Yes. Yes.Anybody here drive clear across the country before? Seems like a fun adventure.
It was pretty rad, man. When you've been driving all night in crazy (really crazy, remember for the rest of my life crazy) fog through Kentucky and the sun rises and it turns out West Virginia is beautiful... And then up into the hills of Shenandoah and finally you hit the ocean. I really liked that trip. I was with a couple friends, but normally I travel solo because I like being alone in new places. I've also been west. I prefer driving west, like mainlining the Beat generation, except my car is too nice. And the sun sets in front of you, which is awful but also amazing in big sky country. And the geology is about a thousand times more interesting. The clouds. Quieter, way more semis on the freeways. I fucking love to drive. Next week I'm flying to Iceland to do a road trip there, which is slightly complicated. If I had my way I'd simply drive to Iceland. Never forget. If you're on the fence about doing it, read Blue Highways and you won't be anymore.
Never heard of Blue Highways but there are a couple of copies at the library here so I know what I'm reading next now, thanks!
