You have fulfilled my curiosity. In fact that was what I supposed it does, but I wanted to make sure : ). Now I can consciously bring happiness to hubski users by clicking their hubwheels. BTW Is there a place here to ask about things like that? I mean some kind of Help?
Psst - You replied to your own post here. That means Complexity did not receive a notification that you replied to him, instead you may have noticed your orange circle in the upper left went orange (vermillion, whatever guys) and when you clicked it, you saw this reply on that page. To reply directly to another user's comment, hit the "reply" link underneath their comment, and a box will appear. Hmm, there's a tutorial, and faq, but not a help site or page. I think you're doing it correctly for how we set it at for now. Ask the community, and we'll tell ya.
Also in notifications I have seen cases when C -> D being posted next to A -> B -> C -> D as different notifications. Hope I made myself clear enough : ).You replied to your own post here. That means Complexity did not receive a notification that you replied to him
That's because I was targeting both Complexity and veen. But I understand I should have done it the way I'm doing here - shouting out.Complexity did not receive a notification that you replied to him, instead you may have noticed your orange circle in the upper left went orange (vermillion, whatever guys) and when you clicked it, you saw this reply on that page.
That is another question. Why do I (at least sometimes) not receive notifications (my hubwheel doesn't go orange) on nested replies to my comments? They always come on the first reply, but when the discussion gets deeper I no longer get the notification. I mean the situation when I make a comment A, someone replies to it by comment B, then I reply to B by posting comment C and the same person replies to C by posting comment D. I get notification on B, but don't get it on D.
You should always get a notification (email, if you subscribe) to new replies on discrete comments. Sometimes, they do appear nested in the notification "tree," so I know what you are talking about. I am not sure why there is that difference, nor can I speak to why/whether they would/would not turn your hubwheel orange, so I'm afraid I can't offer a lot of insight here. I am signed up for notification emails and handle all my replies, mail, etc, through those, so frankly I do not actually click on the hubwheel and read through my notifications much. Sorry!
Yes, also no-cheating used the #newtohubski tag, which is awesome. Well done!
I had a little dilemma on which tag to post that question : ).
