I used to own a car. I owned a car up until I got fed up with having to make car payments, insurance payments, payments for high priced gasoline (which comes from an increasingly unstable middle east). I got rid of my car because the materials sourced to make this machine come from many different places. Places where slavery is rampant. Not to mention I'm a slave myself: To the bank. I can't really GO anywhere. I need to be locked down to a job. To keep my car. I got tired of having to buy tires. I got tired of stopping by refueling stations and breathe in the toxic air that surrounds them, and fuel my car with a pump that's been touched by hundreds of thousands of people.

I said fuck it. I moved closer to work, got a road bike, and... surprisingly enough, I'm about as fast as a car still. I don't really need to go anywhere within a 10 mile radius. I am one less car on the road. Less emissions and pollution. Less resources to be used up. My decision for getting rid of the car were multifaceted. Primarily for the sake of saving a fuck ton of money. Then, the environment. Cars are largely an American thing.

My next car will be electric.
