Good advice, especially because they are quite likely to lie to you, if they think doing so might help them nail you. There is nothing illegal about a cop lying to you, so you literally cannot trust them, at all, ever. They do not have your interests in mind, ever. Sad but true. Say nothing and let your lawyer talk to them, as much as possible.

Even the "good ones" will look the other way while the "bad ones" do as they will - we all know it's true.
