The Pledge of Allegiance is nationalistic, religious, and patriotic -- indicative of the values espoused by our country’s leaders. But there’s another quintessentially American angle to the mantra: it was invented by a marketer who was looking for a creative way to sell flags to public schools.

And the Pledge So while the Soviets were busy making maps not designed to be useful, America is teaching kids to Nazi-salute a capitalist mogul's wet dream. I'm glad the world is in such capable hands. Maybe we should've shipped Upham to the Eastern Bloc, where he could sell them useful maps.It is foremost of all the GDR-era S-Bahn maps in that it is not designed to help passengers find routes between stations, but rather to display the system as a beautiful, rainbow-hued unity.

Hey there Mindwolf. I have an honest question. I like this article. It agrees with me. What made you share it?
I found it interesting. I happen to agree with it as well but the reason I shared it was because I found it interesting. That's my main reason for posting. I may not t agree with everything in an article but it was an interesting viewpoint or provided information that I can use.
Good answer. I'm just wondering because I think asking things like that is a good way to get to know people on sites like this.
