Probably. Because like I said, I like the immediacy of donating to art/culture organizations. Its more rewarding to me to see that my money has had some tangible effect on a cause I care about. If you, say, donate to an NGO or to a cancer research organization, you have no evidence that you've done any good, just their good word, which isn't always as good as they say.

What if you had two choices within a $200 personal charitable budget:
1. Donate $100 to the DIA and $100 to NPR -both awesome. 2. Donate $200 to a little kid so they can have school books in Ecuador. By the way, you know the kids name and he/she will write you letters of their progress quarterly.
