Unfortunately my native music player is being buggy, but ah well. It definitely needs to work for the next chapter, though. minor hint hint.
It was a three day hiatus, it was dark times for everyone.
“Hubskina is such a big place,” she said, placing her hands on the chess table and leaning against it. “Everyone here is really good at…something or another, whether it’s chess, or music, or art, or whatever. And we just got here from Tidder. I’m worried that we’re going to be overwhelmed by it all. I mean, how will we even get our first badge? What if what I’m good at is something Hubskina generally isn’t into? I’m worried about what living here will be like. Whether it’ll be good for us. Maybe…we don’t belong here.”
That paragraph certainly captured my feelings when I first stumbled into Hubskina. Well done 8bit. Are the monsters attacking SciTech actually kleinbl00? When I saw the word "yo" I thought I heard him approaching.
YES! I'm extremely invested in this story and I don;t even mind that you're turning the character Green in to a whiner. There's some truth there....
Less whiner, more straight man is what I'm going for.
Happy Ramadan? Yom Kippur did me in every year when I was a kid. I have no idea how anybody does that for a month. I guess there's the whole "principles" and "self control" thing... anyhow, yeah, happy Ramadan.
Yo, Ramadan is bomb. I get to clear out my 60 hour+ RPG backlog. My dad spends the month with us. My mom goes through her hall of fame dishes throughout the month. And because it's a summer Ramadan, we stay up all night and watch world cup matches and movies and hibernate and shit. It's like Christmas but for a whole month.
Damn, that does sound awesome. More I hear about other peoples' high holidays, more I feel shafted by the ones I grew up with. Here's a reading we'd sing every Yom Kippur (which involved a conspicuous lack of video games and substantially more sitting in temple all day trying not to throw up): Only it was sung in Hebrew: And in some kind of harmonic minor. Which, for all intents and purposes, made it sound and feel like something out of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I think I like your depiction of Ramadan way better. On Rosh Hashanah it is written and on Yom Kippur is sealed - how many will pass from the earth and how many will be created; who will live and who will die; who will die at his predestined time and who before his time; who by water and who by fire, who by sword, who by beast, who by famine, who by thirst, who by upheaval, who by plague, who by strangling, and who by stoning. Who will rest and who will wander, who will live in harmony and who will be harried, who will enjoy tranquility and who will suffer, who will be impoverished and who will be enriched, who will be degraded and who will be exalted. But Repentance, Prayer, and Charity avert the severe Decree!"
(actually) laughed out loud at that. May I suggest not celebrating shit? At any point in time find the friend with the coolest holiday at the moment, and party it up with them! Been working great for me.And in some kind of harmonic minor.
Agreed. Conversely: celebrate EVERYTHING, and then make your holidays the days when there's nothing going on in any culture/religion. I can't see any hiccups in this plan.
Commence religion: The Church of Omnipotent Ambiguity
