Naaaaailed it. Just because I don't see light blue on a username doesn't mean I don't or don't want to interact with them or think less of them. If they have content to share than I'm going to engage them in a discussion. And if it's a positive experience, I'm going to follow them. I've followed a lot of the new people here because of pleasant, engaging conversations, like with water and swedishbadgergirl. It's all about your perception and mindset. Reddit automatically makes you think in the context of "power users." But there are no Unidans here. Just people who like hanging out in the third-place more frequently than others.And if you choose to dwell on such things, you might start to wonder why user X has more followers than user Y.
Honestly my initial positive interactions with people like you really showed me how different this place is. It's a really neat community of people with diverse interest and everyone seems really accessible. Kleinb00 muted me though and I'm sad panda about that because I can't comment on some cool stuff ;(
