Why bother sharing this? It's click bait that's designed to get to share it as much as possible whether due to pride or outrage. This is partisanship for profit, and sharing it does no good if you disagree with it.
I shared it because I believe wholeheartedly in this post. That said, remove the tag and I don't. People on Hubski will notice these things and the people that follow b_b, will know from his past posts that there's a snowballs chance in hell that he's posting this because he is trying to promote anything Cheney.
Dick doesn't pull any punches, does he? He calls the president a "fool" openly. I don't disagree with some of his claims and Obama has largely been a disappointment imo, but still I have to respect the quiet that George W. Bush has largely kept for his post-presidency. Cheney should take a page out of that book and leave such OP-ED's to others.
"Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many." Rarely, indeed. Did you have someone in mind, Dick? This is amazing stuff. I would normally be happy to hop on board with president-bashing, but in this case I can't see past the massive wall of hubris. When Meriadoc saw him in person, I was probably not the only one wondering how he would come across. Then it turned out that best predictor of future behavior was past behavior, and he was completely in character.
Hence, the tag. Obama is not without fault in his foreign policy and I won't defend his team's handling of it, but he mainly only has bad options from which to choose exclusively because of Cheney and his band of nihilists. I read just today that the Iraq war has cost the average American household $35,000. I could buy a Chevy Volt with the money I've spent on his war. Or better yet, a bunch of young people could have gotten a better education, and I'd be happy to pay it. Anyway, it's pointless to muse about what could have been done with this money, because most of it was probably financed through treasuries, I'm sure (which means it will be even more expensive in the end!). Cognitive dissidence doesn't even begin to describe what he and his daughter are experiencing.Did you have someone in mind, Dick?
