Restricting it to 1 cour (or maybe 2) would be more reasonable than 10 episodes. A large percentage of anime goes on for 12/13 episodes, which isn't exactly 10 but is still a far cry from DBZ.

Planetes would be great.

After we are done with that, how about the superior side of anime, involving pretty boys (preferably the Galactic kind)?

I think adding CR as an option would be nice too.

I thought for sure you were going to be talking about Space Dandy. Although some wouldn't consider that "anime"

Wanna break that down into English, kotaku-boy?

You'd have a difficult time finding anime under ten episodes. I'd say a 26 episode cap (2 seasons) would give you the best possible selection of what you're looking for.

Well, Serial Experiments:Lain is 12 episodes. Madoka Magica is 12 episodes. Considering movies also count, I'm hesitant to talk anyone into taking on 2 seasons worth of material.

Of course. I was mostly trying to make what ando said a bit more accessible. I also wanted to point out that a lot of quality series are under the 26 episode cap, but above the 12 episode one.

I do see your point, though.

Right on. Suggest some. Let's do this thing.

user-inactivated  ·  3822 days ago  ·  link  ·

Sure. Do you want a 1 or 2 season cap?

Make an argument for what you think we should start with.

Not sure which part uses words not found in the common English lexicon...

I guess, CR = crunchyroll, a legal streaming service dedicated to anime with a lot of free stuff.

cour

CR

Fun fact: I'm tangentially involved in development talks with crunchy roll, and "CR" is an abbreviation I hadn't heard.

Cour just refers to a production unit, comprising of ~12 episodes. A 12/13 episode series is 1 cour, a 24/25/26 episode series is 2 cour, a 48-52 episode series is 4 cour etc.
