In our First session, we imbibed, and discussed via IRC, Pinot Noir under the watchful eyes of thenewgreen. We continued again in our second session with the Viking classic, Mead under the surveillance of mk with the far-ranging and deep-probing, philosophical questioning from ecib
We continue, thusly, with my personal favourite potent potable: Gin.
Smashing, if I do say so.
this medieval hooch flavoured with juniper berries has, since its inception, been assosciated with medicine. first as an herbal medicine for gouts and intestinal trouble, to later on being a great mixer for the tonics English soldiers were drinking to stave off malaria.
As suggested, this will be set up into three mini-tastes:
1.) On the rocks - one shot in a tumbler, with ice.
2.) Gin and Tonic - a classic
3.) Another gin cocktail - Might I suggest a Gimlet, a Gin Fizz, a Classic Martini, or a Negroni.
You can participate in one, two, or all of the sections, depending on your enthousiasm and your budget.
So, procure your Gin and other ephemera, and be ready to imbibe on: Monday March 10th, 10PM EST there's been requests for a later date. I'll update ASAP.
I will create a post earlier that day, and we will gather on IRC at that time.
Let me know if you want to be added or removed from the list:

I am enthusiastically in. However, I too would like to push it to two weeks out.
If you are a teetotaler and still want to drink something that tastes like Pine. fill a bottle half full of Juniper Berries. Pour in water making sure to leave an inch or two at the top. leave in a warmish place. After a few day there will be bubbles and the berries will start floating to the top and falling. Wait a few more days until they have settled at the bottom again. Chill and you have a carbonated slightly sweet, little bit sour, X-mas tree in a glass.
Plymouth, Boodles, or Hendricks. Cheap gin hangovers are the worst, imo.
Oh! Pretty sure I already have gin? Maybe? Will have to check after work today. Definitely not my favorite liquor, but to each their own.
Also, this is a classic and one of my faves, but it may be a bit chilly for it yet.
Hendricks makes a lovely, mild floral gin. A dangerous (in its deliciousness only!) martini I enjoy on occasion is Hendricks, St. Germain elderflower liqueur and a lemon twist, chilled (of course), stirred and served up. But the Hendricks is so lovely it could be enjoyed any number of ways. It is on the spendy side, though.
I am all for this! Unfortunately I do not yet have my schedule for next week, but if I am free I am in!!!
