So down. So very down. I'm interested in a rough poll of who's a beer/wine/whatever drinkers, just to get a sense. I'm a beer and bourbon drinker myself, but I'll drink whatever.
Nut up, mostly. Kidding. Learning to like whiskey is mainly a matter of finding one that you like. And in college, with what you're probably spending on whiskey, that's not very easy. In the inexpensive range, I would recommend Jim Beam Rye. It's nothing like their bourbon, but at not too much higher of a price. I have a very negative opinion of bourbon, in general. I think corn whiskey is basically shit. For inexpensive American whiskey, I'm all about rye (and for expensive American whiskey, too, actually). It lacks the sourness of bourbon, and has a much brighter flavor. Try it on ice, then drink it straight when you're more used to it. Good shit, I tell ya. Edit: There's a brand of rye called Redemption that I found while drinking with a few Hubski members one night. I thought, based on how delicious it was, that it was pricey. It isn't, but I can't find it by me. If you come across it in a liquor store, pick it up. You won't be disappointed.
