Seriously? That's no bueno. Anyone else ever experience this?
Now that it's been mentioned, that has happened to me before. I don't pay much attention to the email alerts but yeah, it hasn't been terribly consistent.
Huh, that's not cool. mk and forwardslash can we test this out? I've never had any issues and generally get mine without a minute of receiving a comment, new follower or shout-out. It should be mentioned that if someone shouts out to you as an edit, it will not send you a notification. But as for the "primer page," any suggestions or do you think it hits the spot?
I haven't received an email notification for that reply. Maybe I unsubscribed from them and forgot. As for the primer, I think an additional sentence or two with regards to the speed of the site might be good. Stressing quality over quantity is important. It also might be good to mention that while there are followers, Hubski is not a popularity contest and that the purpose is quality articles and comments, not gathering the most followers and badges. Last, an inclusion of the tmi feature would be nice. I'm biased though since that's one of my favorite parts of Hubski.
more about this then?: I like the idea of stressing that it's not about popularity but I think the TMI page might be a good "find" for someone, you know? I wonder if that was forgotten about or left out purposefully? insomniasexx I don't remember any of us mentioning TMI the other night, do you? ButterflyEffect, can you check your settings and see if email notifications are off?Another difference is the "speed" of the site. Users are encouraged to slow down, digest, and discuss the topics fully. Commenting on older posts is similarly encouraged. The Hubski algorithm will inject that old post back into the feed whenever the discussion revives.
Totally forgot about TMI. We should add TMI and the YouTube/image embed feature as well. I'll collect all these comments and revise with mk tomorrow.
I, uh, can't even seem to find the email notification option. But I'm pretty sure they're off. I am, however, 100% certain I have experienced the same problem as Zebra in the past. P.S. thenewgreen, probably an update post coming with regards to Dadstache over the next few days.
