After getting through school, again, I took the leftover money and went as far as I could possibly get,
to a place settled long ago by Catholics,
who still sold knick-knacks in open-air markets,
and built a city deep in the jungle,
which would inspire sci-fi illustrators for decades,
but was largely shunned by the populace,
who mainly lived on the coast,
fishing,
and sunbathing,
on a famous beach with a cobblestone boardwalk.
Where was I?
Hmmm.. well, I see the words Complexo and Princesa. The people look both dark skinned and more fair skinned. I'm thinking Brazil Why? Because I searched those words and came up with some Brazilian's Facebook pages. Then I searched "Brazil City Jungle inspired sci fi" and eventually found this -and I'm glad I did. -Great work. Then I searched "famous boardwalk brazil" and essentially found an image very similar to yours. What a wonderful trip that must have been.~ sounds_sound, can you guess which country this is?
That's Niemeyer in them hills. And a Burle Marx to boot!
Rough as in violent or as in don't leave your camera unattended?
Third picture was a hint in that direction but it could still be Portugal or some modern enclave in Asia, the fourth picture and the text immediately reminded me of the place. No other place has that modernistic, white architecture and inspired sci fi. Brasilia was the epitome of the created city when it was built, and it's a very interesting city indeed. The other pictures were just confirmation. I'd love to go there someday.
