Isn't there a way that you could weigh certain peoples posts over others? For example, if I follow mk and cgod but I tend to share cgods post more often, shouldn't they find their way to the top of my feed and stay there longer than mk's? Also, if I tend to read certain tags more often (even if I don't follow them) shouldn't they be weighted differently? I feel like I remember kleinb100 mentioning something to this effect??

It's certainly a problem to be solved and if Hubski does it... all the better.

I think it's reasonable. However, the sweet spot of bias might be difficult to achieve, or be different for different people. At the same time, it's not enough to put something like that into folks hands, say, with a slider, because it's difficult to gauge the effect of one setting over another.

One thing that I think would be easy, is to give a post more staying power in your feed if you commented on it. Currently posts sort in your feed based on age, shares, and a bit on commenting. But it doesn't distinguish your comment activity from others. I'm going to think on that. If you commented on a post, you'd probably be interested in it hanging around just a bit more.

What about being able to dismiss a post from your feed altogether? You could do this once you've read/watched/listened to it already and have no interest in following it's comment stream. This could help keep your feed clean.

Yeah, that doesn't sound bad. But then I think there needs to be a hidden page, where you can go to recover them. Especially, if you hid something then decided you wanted to see it again.

It adds another page, but I suppose it could be tucked away in your profile.

Certainly. When I want to follow a discussion, I save that post. It being more visible on my feed page would be cool too.

NG raises an interesting point. Right now, Hubski uses color differentiation to distinguish between read and unread posts. A visible/hidden system does appear to "lighten up" the feed page, but it brings up a one issue: if I can hide my posts, how far does that process has to go until I have an empty feed page? If one wants to clear clear one's feed page, this is not the best method to do so. Too much clicking.

That is definitely something I am going to consider. Even just a little boost might be something.
